  •  Date of Death: July 31, 2026
  •  Location: Bathurst
  •  Funeral Information: August 06, 2026 at 02:00 PM in Holy Family Church, Bathurst, NB

It is with sadness for their loss that the family of Allan Martin White, of Bathurst, announce his passing on July 31, 2026.

Allan was born in Bathurst, NB as the oldest son of the late Agnes (Lavigne) and the late Roman “Roe” White.

Allan married the love of his life, Irene (Comeau) 59 years ago. He was a hero in the eyes of their two daughters, Karen Morris (Trevor) of Fredericton, NB and Janice Charbonnet (Jean) of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a fun-loving grandfather to his six grandchildren: Chloe, Emily, Olivia, Adam, Daphne and Peter, all of whom call him “Bampie”.

A devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Theresa Church in his youth and then Holy Family Church, Allan spent his life in humble service to his faith community. As a Fourth-Degree Knight, he served as Grand Knight of the Monsignor Wheton Assembly of the Knights of Columbus #12031 (2022-24), and was very active in many parish ministries, including Management Council, Altar serving, Eucharistic Minister, funeral ministry, sacristan, parking cars, and reader at Mass. He and Irene also taught marriage preparation courses for engaged Catholic couples for several years in their home.

If there was a job to be done, Allan would make himself available without looking for any thanks.

Allan worked many jobs in his lifetime, providing for his family, most notably in property management and construction. He later transitioned to working in the Alberta oilsands, driving a 23-foot-high truck capable of hauling a 240-tonne payload, one of the largest trucks in existence.

He is survived by his siblings who were his closest friends: Steve (Jeannine) of Bathurst, NB and Dennis (Audrey) of Bathurst, NB and his sisters Anne (late Arthur) Roy of Bathurst, NB and Adeline (late George) Thibideau of Courtice, ON as well as many nieces and nephews.

Resting at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, where visitation will be held Wednesday, August 5 from 4:30–6pm and a funeral Mass at Holy Family Church on Thursday, August 6, at 2pm with a reception to follow.

For those who wish, donations in memory of Allan may be made to Holy Family Church or a charity of your choice.
