Beresford - Roy Maye, 61, of Beresford, passed away on Sunday (September 17, 2006) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in Pellys Island, Nfld., he was the son of the late Frederick and Frances (Whitt) Maye. He was as a miner at Brunswick Mines, retiring in 2001, and was a member of the Company's Quarter Century Club. He was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, Bathurst. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Colburne) Maye. One daughter: Kelly Vienneau (J.R.) of South Tetagouche, NB Two sisters: Lulu Verge (Otto) of Grand Falls, Nfld. Shirley Goode (J.R.) of Prosperous, Texas, USA One brother: Harold Maye (Patsy) of St. John's, Nfld. 2 grandchildren, Jake and Ryan, several nieces and nephews. His mother-in-law; Edith Colburne of Springdale, Nfld. He was pre-deceased by a son, Gerry, in 1995. The body will rest after 7:00 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday afternoon (September 20, 2006) at 2:00 p.m. from St. George's Anglican Church, King Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery, St. Anne St. Visiting hours are Monday from 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to a charity of the donors choice.
