Big River - Allan MacKenzie, 68, beloved husband of Margaret (Hutchison) MacKenzie, of Big River, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday (February 18, 2007) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.
Born in South Nelson, Miramichi, he was the son of the late Walter A. and Iva (MacRae) MacKenzie.
He was employed by NBTel until his retirement and was an active member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, the Bathurst Curling Club, the Telephone Pioneers, and the First United Church Choir.

Seven wonderful grandchildren; Zachary, Kristien, Stefan, Troy, Taylor, Alec and Morgan.

The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the First United Church or a favorite charity.
