Sister Cécile Doucet of La Maison Notre Dame de L’Assomption, Bathurst, after 52 years of religious work, passed away on Saturday (March 10, 2007) at the infirmary of the Religieuse Hospitalière de Saint-Joseph, of Bathurst. Born, September 27, 1923 at Notre Dame de Kent, NB, she was the daughter of late Thomas Doucet (originally of Grand Étang, NS) and late Marie Chiasson (originally of St Joseph du Moine, NS) and was the 6th child of a family of 10. Sister Doucet worked in the Radiology and Pharmacology services in different orders of the Congregation, and also at the Hotel Dieu of Sorel, Que., Hotel Dieu of Bathurst, Hotel Dieu of Edmundston, Hotel Dieu of St-Quentin and Perth Andover. She then came to the Notre Dame of Assumption House where she resided since 1971, and did a variety of secretarial and archive services. She is survived by: Three sisters: Rose-Anne of Aux Bons Soins of Shediac. Jeannette of Foyer St-Joseph of Memramcook. Mathilda of Memramcook. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother; Bernard, and two infants brothers, one sister; Sophie Beatrice and 3 infants sisters. The body is resting at the Maison Notre-Dame de l’Assomption, 2144 Vallée-Lourdes, Bathurst, Monday March 11, 2007. The funerals will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 11h00, from their Chapel. Burial will be in the congregational Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
