Gloucester Junction, NB - Sarto Lavoie, 82, of Gloucester Junction, passed away at his residence on Saturday (May 19, 2007). Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Edgar and Marie-Anne (Marcoux) Lavoie. He was a former employee of the NB Department of Highways. Besides his wife, Mercia (Doucet) Lavoie, he is survived by six children: Michèle Desylva (Paul) of Saint John, NB Lawrence Lavoie (Ruth) of Hamilton, ON Suzanne Finch (Dave) of Otterville, ON Constant Lavoie (Bonnie) of Hamilton, ON Dayna Hayward (Scott) of Halifax, NS Christine Landry (Renaud) of Saint John, NB One brother: Léo Lavoie (Rachel) of Bathurst, NB Five sisters: Lina Savoie of Saint John, NB Maria Ross (Archie) of St. Thomas, ON Yvonne Whiteside (Robert) of Trenton, ON Jeannette Sauntry (Merlin) of St. Catherines, ON Albertine O'Connell (Guy) of Bathurst, NB Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother; Adrien, and a sister; Lorette. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday (July 6, 2007) at 4:00 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, St. Mary's Ave. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.
