Bathurst - Mrs. Florida Melanson, 92, wife of the late Aurele Melanson, of Dumeresq St., Bathurst, passed away on Saturday (June 2, 2007) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late George and Louise (Lavigne) Melanson. She was a member of the Little Flower Council Catholic Women's League, Ladies Auxiliary of the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Golden Age Club, Maple Leaf Club, Library Club and a former member of the Senior Choir. She is survived by: Four sons: Terence (Arlene) of Bathurst Paul (Carol) of Timmins, ON Mike (Wanda) of Fort McMurray, AB Danny (Diane) of Beresford Five daughters: Evelyn Gallagher (Earl) of Fredericton, NB Anita Leach (Les) of Toronto, ON Betty Larose (Bob) of Ottawa, ON Rita Weston (Robert) of Fredericton, NB Joan Melanson of Bathurst, NB Three brothers: Gerald Lavigne (Finn) of Bathurst Leo Lavigne (Charlotte) of Toronto, ON Percy Lavigne (Yvonne) of Windsor, ON One sister: Evelyn Hardgrove (John) of St. Thomas, ON Two generations of grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning (June 5, 2007) at 11:00 a.m. from St. Theresa Church, South Bathurst.
