Bathurst - Harold Scott, 89, of Mill Haven Ct., Bathurst, died Sunday (July 6, 2003) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in Stonehaven, NB, he was the son of the late Rufus H. and Annie (Payne) Scott. He worked in Farming and Fishing and later retiring from the Security division of Brunswick Mining and Smelting. Active in the communities and Churches of Bathurst and New Bandon, he served on various committees. He was a member of the Agricultural Society and eagerly participated in many plowing matches at the local and provincial levels. He lived life to the fullest and derived special pleasures from his many friends and family. He loved to travel and enjoyed his farm and gardens in New Bandon. He was pre-deceased by his wife, the former Rena Buchanan, in 1994. He is survived by: 1 Daughter: Aldra Carson (Dr. Donald) of Bathurst 1 Son: Brian Scott (Linda) of Bathurst 1 Brother: Elmer Scott of New Bandon 1 Sister: Vera Hopper of Toronto 7 Grandchildren, Sandy, Kirk, Paul, Clark, Alan, Vance and Ashley 12 Great-grandchildren, Andrew, Allison, Alex, Amanda, Jarrett, Shannon, Megan, Cooper, Jacob, Amber, Katelyn and Riley. Lovingly remembered by his extended family of 6 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Deward and two sisters, Margaret and Emma. The body will rest after 7:00 p.m. at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday afternoon (July 9, 2003) at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery.
