Bathurst – Richard Vienneau, 80, of Tower Hill Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Saturday March 28, 2020 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the last surviving child of the late Joseph and Roseanne (Bertin) Vienneau. 

In his early years, Richard worked as Stevedore on ships and was also President of their Union (CAW). He worked in Montreal and Hamilton, putting his heart into everything he could. In later years, Richard worked side by side with his wife as a custodian at the Evangel Pentecostal, where he attended for 40 years and served on the board and was head usher for years, played guitar with a team of other musicians, singer for seniors. He loved his family, extended family, his foster kids, friends and neighbors.   

Besides his wife, Jennie (Daley) Vienneau, he is survived by his five children: Shelley Vienneau and Tony (Bernice) both of Bathurst, Rick (Micheline) of Middle River, Christina Curtz (Mike) of Nova Scotia and Angie Curley (Stephen) of Big River. 

Ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. 

Several nieces and nephews. 

He was pre-deceased by sisters: Mary May, Louise, Julie, Elizabeth and brothers: Théophile, Paul, Roger, Lionel 

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Due to the Pandemic, Funeral Service will be held from the Evangel Pentecostal Church, Basin St., Bathurst at a later date. Donations in memory of Richard may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.   Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
