It is with great sadness that the family of Léopold Chiasson of Beresford, announces his passing at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Monday, June 22nd, 2020 at the age of 83.   

Born in Caraquet, he was the son of the late Anatole Chiasson and Béatrice Chamberlain.

Léopold is lovingly remembered by his wife, Alberta (Christie) Chiasson, and his four children: Linda Vienneau (Gerald) of Bathurst, Carolle Richardson (Rob) of Robertville, Daniel Chiasson (Tony) of San Francisco, USA and Denis Chiasson (Kim) of Middle River. Léopold will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Ronald, Caroline, Paul and Suzie and great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Hunter, Jayce, Dylan and Cooper.

Brothers and sisters: Donald (Claudine) of Dunlop, Alyre (Rita) of Beresford, Wallace (Bernice) of Kamloops, BC, Vincent (Dorille) of Ottawa, Murielle St-Père (Normand), Simone Young (Kenneth) both of Beresford and Geraldine Chiasson of Bathurst and sisters-in-law, Juanita More of Beresford and Vicky Roy of Bathurst and brother-in-law, Yvon Vienneau of Rough Waters.

Léopold was predeceased by a young son, Léo Paul, brothers Anatole and Walter and a sister, Pauline.

The family is thankful for the kindness of the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital who comforted him during his last days. A celebration of life is forthcoming in summer 2020.

Donations in memory of Léopold may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
