It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ghislaine Schryer, wife of Hugh Schryer and mother of Brian, announce her passing after a brief battle with cancer, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on August 4th, 2022 at the age of 68.

Born in Edmundston, she was the daughter of the late Roland A. and Lucienne (Cyr) Ouellette.

Besides her husband Hugh and son Brian (Erin), she is survived by her pride and joy, her grandson, Nathan.

She is also survived by her siblings: André (Lauraine) of Tracadie, Francine (Edmond), Louise (Sammie) both of Bathurst, Charles (Michelle) of Orleans and Marcel (Angèle) of Fredericton as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Ghislaine also leaves behind many amazing friends who loved her like family.

Ghislaine was the embodiment of everything good in the world. She was a constant in the lives of so many who knew her. She was a truly exceptional wife, mom, grandmother, mother-in-law, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Ghislaine spent most of her career working at Ecole Secondaire Nepisiguit (ESN), where she was a favorite of many teachers and students. She was known for her never-ending generosity, kindness, and warm-hearted nature.

Her funeral will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Bathurst on Thursday, August 11th at 11:00 am.

Donations in memory of Ghislaine can be made to the SPCA in Bathurst.
