Bathurst – It is with great sadness that we the family, announce the passing of Mrs. Jeannine Elhatton, wife of the late Wilbur Elhatton, of St. George St., Bathurst, which occurred peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at age of 92.
Born in Grande-Anse, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Albina (Boudreau) Blanchard.
Jeannine is survived by four children: Laurie Elhatton of Halifax, N.S., Kelly Avery (Robert) of Santa Barbara, CA, USA, Patrick (Louise) of Bathurst and Terri Lovegrove (Michael) of Moncton.
Her nine cherished grandchildren: Erin, Cameron, Olivia, Logan, Georgia, Kincade, Keagan, Ryan and Emma.
One sister, Marie Sutcliffe of Oakville, ON.
Several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Roland.
She was employed by the federal government during her working career. Jeannine loved to travel, she enjoyed music and the many summers spent at her cottage in Youghall. She was member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Women’s League, Bathurst, was an active organizer with the Bathurst Music Festival for many years and enjoyed playing cards with her “Gals”.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 8th, 2025 at 2 p.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Jeannine may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
