It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Adeline (Lanteigne) Albert of Bathurst, wife of the late Sylvio Albert, which occurred on November 25, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst following a long battle with breast cancer, at the age of 98 years and 11 months.
Born in Caraquet, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marie Zoe (Kenny) Lanteigne. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Adeline is survived by her son, Denis of Bathurst, with whom she resided, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Christine (late Freddy Blanchard), and five brothers: Léonard (late Lorraine Lanteigne), Gérald (late Stephanie Gauvin), Gabriel (late Anita Robichaud), Raymond (late Emerentienne “Amy” Lanteigne), and Rodolphe, who died in infancy.
She was also predeceased by her stepfather, John Morais, and five half-sisters: Yvonne, Hedwidge, Hermine, Cécile, and Lina, as well as two half-brothers, Aurèle and Lucien.
Mom was a wonderful and devoted wife and mother who never ceased to help those in need and to be part of many organizations working for the good of society.
Special thanks are extended to her physician Dr. Nathalie Cauchon, Dr. Salem (oncologist in Moncton), the extra-mural nurses and palliative care staff at Chaleur Hospital, as well as her personal support workers—especially Elizabeth—who all provided her with the care, compassion, and love she needed.
In memory of Adeline, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. The funeral will take place in the spring of 2026. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) in Bathurst.
