Bathurst - It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of our mother Suzie Maurice who left us at the young age of 61 years old. She passed away peacefully at her home in Bathurst N.B surrounded by her loved ones on the 30th of January 2026.

She didn't lose her battle with brain cancer, instead she fought fiercely every single day and never gave up. She lived her life on her own terms and danced to her own beat until the very end.

Suzie was Born in Montreal, QC, she was a beacon of strength and resilience. She was the heart of our family and the glue that held everything together. She had this incredible ability to make everyone around her feel special. Her laugh was extremely contagious, and her beautiful smile was like a ray of sunshine. Her hugs were healing, and her love was unconditional.

Even in her final days, she was more concerned with her children than herself. That was Mom - always putting others first. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled in us and in the countless lives she's touched throughout her journey. We'll miss her, but her love will carry on in us forever.

She was preceded in death by her former partner André Bernard with whom she shared two children. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Cody Bernard and Chloé Bernard (Tommy Comeau) both of Bathurst. She is now reunited with her beloved late Mother Hermeline Maurice, and her father Denis Maurice. She will be dearly missed by her three brothers who she loved very much, Serge Maurice of Moncton, Joel Maurice of Bathurst, and Alain Maurice St Joseph Island (Yazmin Martinez). Her nephews and nieces who brought her so much joy, Victoria, Alex, Jolaine, Denis. Together again with her grandparents who she cherished, Alice Robichaud and Bernard Guitard. Noëlla Guy and Prudent Maurice and is survived by a wide circle of devoted friends, neighbors, and extended family.

Her loving and constant shadows will miss her. Her faithful, four-legged friend Jax who was with her for 9 years (he drove her crazy, with love) & the sweet Coco who loved to trip her over and follow her around meowing for treats. They were always near and never far while they watched her constantly.

A memorial service celebrating Suzie's exceptional life will follow at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, NB.
