It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our mother Alexandra Chomick wife of the late Nick Chomick which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Monday February 2, 2026, at the age of 97.

Born in St Léolin she was the daughter of the late Franklyn Poirier and the late Malvina (Dugas) Poirier.

She leaves behind her three children: Sandra and Shirley (Paul) both of North Tetagouche, Bob (Danielle) of Beresford.

Six grandchildren: Erik, Dan, Susie, Allan, Cindy and Julie.

Great grandchildren: Soheila, Kiahn, Coen, Payton, Avery and Ashton.

Two sisters: Alphonsine and Géralda.

Several nieces and nephews

Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Alexandra had a very vibrant personality, volunteering her time at the Bathurst hospital, she loved to dance and sing, being a proud member of Friends in Song. She enjoyed spending time outdoors. Loved by everyone that knew her.

The family would like to thank the Extra Mural nurses for all their care and compassion. Dr. Ault and his team at the Bathurst Hospital. Her special guardian angel, granddaughter Julie who never left her side at the hospital day and night.

There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held from Elhatton’s Funeral Chapel on Monday February 9, 2026, at 2p.m. Donations in memory of Alexandra may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home, Bathurst (www.elhatton.com).
