The family of Ralph Boucher regrets to announce his passing on May 9th 2026, at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes in Bathurst, at the age of 89.

Ralph was born in Saint John to Dorothé Doucet and Frank Doherty, and was adopted by Martin Boucher and Stella (Savoie, Boucher) Breau.

He leaves to mourn his four children: Linda (Gary Bernard) of Bathurst, Paula (Darryl Pitre) of Moncton, Danny (Jacqueline Comeau) of Bathurst, and Paul (Christine Garron) of Cole Harbour, NS.

He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Charles (Katherine), Julie (Brad), Nathan, Danie (Ed), Michel (Véronique), Samuel and Adam, as well as six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Ralph was predeceased by his wife Thérèse Martin and his grandson Shawn Boucher.

Ralph served in the Canadian Army for a few years before returning home to a full career at “the mill”, staying with Stone Consolidated until his retirement. He was also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

In his younger years, he was active in community sports. As part of the East Bathurst Sport Association, he would spend his winter weekends maintaining the ice and playing skating music. As his children grew, he followed his boys into minor hockey, serving as a coach for many years.

Ralph was proud of his Irish heritage, always flying the Canadian and Irish flags over his home. He also loved baseball, as a passionate fan of the Expos and later the Blue Jays.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27th, 2026, at 11 a.m. from Elhatton Funeral Chapel. Ralph’s family would sincerely appreciate donations to the Bathurst Volunteer Centre or Bathurst SCPA in his memory.
