It is with great sadness that we the family, say goodbye to Marc Henri Cormier.
He passed away peacefully at the age of 80, on July 20th2026, after fighting a long and fierce battle with cancer at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 80.
Born in Bathurst he was the son of the late John and Vitaline (Mainville)Cormier.
He is survived by his daughters Rachelle Goral and Lori Ann (Wesley) Kierstead. His four grandsons Connor (Emily), Michael (Kathleen), Kieran (Vivianne) and Christopher. He is also survived by his Sister Winnie Cormier, brother-in-law Dan (Ellen)Riordon and Elaine (late Preston) Knowles, Sandra (late Ray) Riordon, Diane (late Frank) Riordon, Viola (late David) Riordon and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his loving wife Alma (Riordon) of 57 years he was predeceased by his parents, his brothers John (Jackie) and Eric Cormier along with his sisters Joanne (Tom)Tanski, Jeannette Cormier, sister-in-law Coleen Riordon, Brother-in-law Terry Riordon and Nephew Brandon Coombs.
Marc was a prominent business owner and operator of Cormier & Son’s bottling works.
Besides his family, he loved the great outdoors. Sunrise at the beach, fly fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and bonfires at the camp. Always an open door and a welcoming smile. Late night card games and warm food to be had.
Marc touched the lives of everyone around him. He was a strong man full of love and compassion. He will be loved and missed by all.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday July 28, 2026, at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Donations in memory of Marc can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
