Bathurst – Thomas Pettegrew, husband to the late Joan (McArdle) Pettigrew, formerly of Vincent St., Bathurst, passed away on Thursday July 23, 2026, at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, at age of 83.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Jack and Jean (Russell) Pettigrew.

He was retired from the former Bathurst Paper Mill, was a member of the Holy Family Church Choir and was an active volunteer in his community.  

He is survived by one daughter, Jodie Aubé (René) and one son, Todd (Sheri) both of Bathurst. 

Three granddaughters: Brittany, Courtney and Brooke and two great-grandchildren; Liam and Wyatt.

One sister, Jean Cobham (Frank Delabio) of Ottawa, ON. 

Several nieces and nephews.

Besides his spouse and parents, he was pre-deceased by a son, Charles and a brother, Russell.

There will be no visitations at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday August 5, 2026, at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst. Donations in memory of Thomas may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
