It is with deep sadness that we, his family, announce the passing of Leo Legacy.

Leo is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Jason (Amber) and Jennifer (Rene); his grandchildren, Taylor (Martin) and Zachery (Renelle); his great-grandchild, who is still in the womb; and his brother, Charles (Jeannette). He was predeceased by his parents, William and Marie Rose; his brothers, Billy and Robert; and his sisters, Aldia, Rita, Viola, and Yvonne.

Leo passed from this life to the next at the age of 78 on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. He was surrounded by his family while receiving palliative care at Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst. His family is grateful for the care he received.

His funeral and memorial service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Bathurst on Wednesday, September 23, at 2:00 p.m with a reception to follow. Those wishing to honour his resilience may make a donation to the Alzheimer Society.

Leo provided for his family through thirty-six years of service with Brunswick Mining near Bathurst. Beginning as a labourer and retiring as an electrician, he worked and studied day and night.

He will be remembered for his love of family and for the moments they shared over chess, darts, pool, fishing and hunting. His smile will forever be in our hearts, and the life he built will never be forgotten.
